MCPDWS organizes Tawi Pujan 7/20/2015 11:56:32 PM Early Times Report jammu, July 20:Surya Putri Tawi River that has given its name and identity to the City of Temples, Jammu was honoured today by Mata Chint Purni Darbar Welfare Society and scores of people from all walks of life. According to press release, Society Vice Chairman Hira Lal Abrol performed Aarti and Puja on the holy bank of river Tawi. Large number of people had gathered at the venue and they sang Geets and Bhajans in the praise of the holy river and thanked it for providing the resources to the city of Jammu. The devotees expressed their anguish over the number of Nullahs that are pouring the filth of the city into it and are causing a severe threat to the sanctity of the divine river. The gathering and the members of the society resolved to raise consciousness among the people and to appraise the State Government machinery to look into the matter and maintain its purity. Mahant Birender Khajuria , Jatinder Kumar Chopra, Gen Secretary; Choudhary Tej Ram, Working President Anoop Aggarwal, Treasurer and all executive members of the society were also present on the occasion. Everyone participated in the ceremony which was followed by Kanya Pujan.
