GHSS Katra students move HC for justice | | | Shiv Dev Thakur Early Times Report
Katra, July 20: Some teachers of government high school Katra are asking the students to receive tuition from them at their private centres, forcing parents of the students to move High Court for justice. A group of parents alleged that some of the teachers namely Karan Gupta, Sham Lal and Deepak are running their private centres with the permission of the principal of the school, Tripta Bhardwaj. The parents said these teachers manipulated the result of Class 11 and the principal did not hesitate to hide the misdeeds of his colleagues. Even after repeated attempts to apprise the principal of the situation, he failed to act against the teachers. The parents also alleged that the principal was not willing to provide photocopies of the answer sheets even after receiving an RTI application filed by one of the parents. "I am not competent to provide the answer sheets," the principal allegedly told the students. "We, the parents of aggrieved students namely Sahil Kumar, Mohammad Shahbaz Khan, Bhanu Partap Singh, Arjun Singh and Natish Sharma being helpless finally approached The High Court to get justice", said Khushy Mohammed, parent of one of the students. "We have filed a suit against all the staff members involved including the principal." When contacted by Early Times, a senior official of J&K Board of School Education said there is nothing wrong in providing photocopies of the answer sheets to the students. He said even the BOSE provides answer sheets if any student wants it. "So it is the right of the student to get their answer sheets if the result is unsatisfactory," she said.
