Congress dissidents to meet tomorrow for further course of action; likely to submit mass resignation | | | Early Times Report jammu, July 20: Following suspension of the party veterans and former ministers Gulchain Singh Charak, Abdul Gani Vakil and Prem Sagar Aziz, the Third Front of dissidents in State Congress is going to chalk out its further strategy on July 22. An emergency meeting in this regard is going to be convened on Wednesday at the Engineering Institute Gandhi Nagar, where the dissidents will discuss and decide their next course of action, sources in the Third Front told the Early Times. The meeting is likely to be attended by all the dissident Congressmen, including the three who have been suspended from the party for their alleged anti-party activities, sources added. Amidst reports that the PCC president G A Mir and senior vice-president Sham Lal Sharma are in favour of similar action against a few more dissident leaders, sources said that some crucial decision is expected to be taken in the scheduled meeting of Third Front. A unanimous decision for mass resignation from the party by all the dissident leaders may be taken during this crucial meeting, which is likely to be attended by Janak Raj Gupta, Arvinder Singh Micky, Jugal Kishore Sharma, R S Chib, Tara Chand and Hari Singh and other prominent Congressmen, sources said. Pertinent to mention here that Early Times had exclusively reported on July 19 that Gulchain Singh Charak, Abdul Gani Vakil and Prem Sagar Aziz were all set to be suspended from the party for their alleged anti-party activities as AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi had given his nod for the action. Meanwhile, speculations are also agog that the suspended Congress leaders have established contact with three different political parties for their entry. Even as the Congress has only suspended the three dissidents from primary membership of the party, sources said that there were remote chances of a review of this decision. In the wake of their suspension turning into expulsion from the party, Charak, Vakil and Aziz have no option other than to embrace new party, sources explained. |
