Kathua, July 20 : The Jammu & Kashmir Ex-services Welfare Association (JKESWA) joined ongoing protest for 'One rank One pension' at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on Sunday. According to press release, a delegation of 50 Ex servicemen led by Colonel PL Choudhary, Founder Chairman of the JK ESWA observed 24 hour hunger strike on 19-20 July 2015 at Jantar Mantar New Delhi to support the UNITED EX SERVICEMEN FRONT for the ongoing Relay Hunger Strike for Non implementation of One Rank one pension by the Govt. Col PL Choudhary, Chairman of JK ESWA while addressing the Rally of ESM said that OROP is not a favour on the retired community instead the Govt owes the veterns its due for serving the Nation. Colonel Choudhary slammed the Prime Minister Narinder Modi for not keeping his poll promise of implementing the one rank one pension. He said that the there was no complication in the present definition of OROP which has been approved by the Koshiyari Committee and the Apex Court also. The statement appears to be motivated by some strong bureaucratic lobby who is not favour of giving OROP to military vetern. Col Choudhary further said that the condition of our Veer Naries and veterns was pitiable. The basic pension of Rs 3500 for Veer Naries is totally insufficient to lead a respectable and hounorable life being the widow of military vetern. |
