Banihal observes shut down against lack of facilities at EH Banihal

Banihal, July 31: In response to the call of Banihal Bandh called by civil society the highway town Banihal observed a complete to lodge protest against the lack of healthcare facilities at Emergency Hospital (EH) Banihal and also blocked national highway for some hours.
Protestors shouting slogans against the health department, administration and against the government took to roads and staged their protest by disrupting usual traffic plying on the ever busy national highway. The Banihal Civil Society has called for Banihal bandh to register their resentment against the lack of facilities, miss management and non availability of doctors in the Emergency Hospital (EH) Banihal. The agitated protesters demanded immediate transfer of Block Medical Officer Banihal (BMO) M H Buhara and filling up the vacant posts of Doctors at earliest. During the protest on Jammu Srinagar highway the movement of traffic also disrupted for some time.
ADC Ramban Babu Ram, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Ramban Dr.Saif- ud- Din Khan and SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq rushed to the spot and pacified protesters by assuring that that demands will be taken up to concerned quarters. It was their assurances the locals lifted their protest from highway while the shops and other business establishments remains closed on the whole day.
Tehsildar Banihal along with SHO Banihal Tariq Naik opened the locks of BMO Office which was locked by the ex BMO MH Buhara who got the stay on his attachment. He was attached at Director Health Services Jammu after the public resentment some two months ago.
When contacted Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Ramban Dr Safif -u -Din in telephonic conversation told 'Early Times' that on the immediate action and arrangements a gynecologist Dr Talib hussain has been ordered and posted in Banihal hospital. He further said that the other vacant posts of Doctors will also arrange for Banihal hospital soon.
