Dubious role of NC leadership 8/1/2015 12:16:40 AM Early Times Report Jammu, July 31: National Conference, which is claiming to be champion of Jammu' s cause on the issue of AIIMS, has forget its dubious role when Central University was sanctioned for Jammu region some years back. It was during the regime of Omar Abdullah that Central University was sanctioned for Kashmir Valley only. Neither Omar Abdullah nor his own party National Conference had asked the Centre to announce two Universities for the State. When announcement regarding Central University for Kashmir Valley was made, entire NC leadership had hailed that decision of the Centre. It was only after peoples' outcry in Jammu region and tough stand taken by the Congress party, which was part of the coalition at that time that NC leadership was forced to ask the Centre to sanction one more Central University was Jammu region also. Similar situation has been emerged on the issue of AIIMS, in the month of April this year when campaign against denying AIIMS to Jammu region was kicked start following reporting in the Early Times, NC leaders had maintained a vast distance from that campaign.
