| Civil Society extends moral support to AIIMS-CC's stir | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Aug 3: The people of Kishtwar district today extended their moral support to AllMS Coordination Committee spearheading the ongoing AIIMS- Jammu movement and demanding for setting up of a separate full-fledged AIIMS for Jammu region. The members of Civil Society Kishtwar and leaders of various organizations in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Shamsher Singh Bhandari social Activist and Senior Member of the Civil Society and Sr Congress leader had threadbare discussions over the present situation.
Chairperson Mr Bhandari urged the Government not to delay the decision on the AIIMS as this has generated a lot of public resentment in entire Jammu region.
Members in the this meeting observed as the Jammu lacks in specialized medicare facilities forcing people to go either visit Punjab, Chandigarh or Delhi for the same and those living in far-flung areas and the poor people can't afford the same.
"Hence setting up of AIIMS at a centrally located place i.e., Jammu will benefit the people of entire region, they advocated while stressing for the said demand.
The meeting further justifying the demand of AIIMS-CC said the Government should accept the demand without further delay and make announcement at an earliest in this regard. |
