Fraud by CDC's Director: JU orders probe after ET report | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 3: The administration of Jammu University, taking cognizance of an Early Times Report, has ordered a probe into buying of books worth Rs 40 thousand by a top official for his doctor daughter from the varsity fund. Sources said a three-member committee has been constituted by the Vice-Chancellor Dr R D Sharma to probe the misconduct of Director of Colleges Development Council (CDC) Jai Kumar. "The committee was constituted last week. Prof Kuldeep Sharma is heading it, while Prof Kulwant Singh and Prof Naresh Padha are its other members," said sources, adding that the committee would submitted its report to VC within a week. Recently, the Early Times exposed in its report headlined Shocker! JU official buys books worth Rs 40K for doctor daughter from varsity fund how Jai Kumar had allegedly forced the Chief Librarian to purchase the books for his daughter who is pursuing post-graduation in surgery from ASCOMS, Sidhra, Jammu. The orders for purchasing books were placed under pressure of the then Special Secretary to Vice-Chancellor a month ago. The issue came to the fore when the Joint Registrar (Finance) refused to clear the payment and brought the matter into VC's notice. |
