Childi Locals protest, demand solar lights 8/3/2015 11:37:47 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, Aug 3: Alleging authorities having adequate number of solar lights are not distributing these to needy villagers who are living in dark after sunset, the residents of village Childi in Chenani of Udhampur district today staged a protest demonstration demanding distribution of solar lights as the areas sans due supply of electricity. Led by BJP Mandal President Mohinder Singh the protestors raising slogans in support of their demand said as the area is deprived of power and thus they should be given solar lights. Singh and others speakers said that approximately 286 solar lights meant for distribution among the needy people are lying in a godown at BDO office for the last seven years. They said that due to frequent power cuts, there is immediate need of solar lights so that the villager feel secure during late night hours.
