Drug peddler, bovine smugglers held in Thannamandi 8/25/2015 11:08:51 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Aug 25: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and bovine smuggling, Rajouri Police today arrested a drug peddler and bovine smugglers under the jurisdiction of Thanamandi police station. During special 'naka' at Behrote on Rajouri - Thanamandi road inspector Narinder Singh Chib, SHO,THanamandi and his team intercepted a person namely Abdul Majid of village Hasplote carrying 5 animals. When questioned the accused failed to give satisfactory answer and also failed to produce relevant documents. He was immediately taken into custody and police also seized the bovine animals. Police have booked the accused in case FIR No 126/2015 under sections and started investigation. Pertinently Rajoruri police have registered 87 cases of bovine smuggling and have arrested 163 persons and rescued 530 bovine animals and have seized 50 vehicles under the jurisdiction of different police stations since January this year. Meanwhile Thanamandi police today apprehended a drug smuggler namely Mohd Kabir s/o Abdul Aziz of village Mangota, Thanamandi, who is running a karyana Shop near Peer Zakir Shah Ziarat at Mangota, for selling the illicit liquor in the area. SHO,Thanamandi said that police team conducted a raid at the shop and recovered 9 cane of Kingfisher beer (350 ml each) & 1-bottle of Beer kingfisher (650 ml)and arrested the accused persons on spot. In this connection case FIR No 128/2015 under section 48 Ex.
