Awareness camps on domestic violence, PNDT Act held 8/25/2015 11:11:54 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, Aug 25: Tehsil Legal Service Committee (TLSC), Majalta organized legal awareness camps on "Rights of Women and Protection of Women from Domestic Violence" and Pre-Natal Sex Determination and Pre-Natal Diagonastic Technique (PNDT) Act at Vijay High Scool Majalta and High School Thalora Majalta .The legal awareness camps aim at spreading awareness among common masses about their legal rights. The camps were organized on the direction of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur Rakesh Sagar Jain and Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Majalta Tousif Ahmed Magray . The legal awareness camp organized at Vijay High School Majalta mainly focussed upon the J&K Protection of Women From Domestic Violence Act, 2010. On this occasion, Retainer Lawyer Advocate Amit Gupta informed the audience that for people with an annual income of Rs. One lakh, the Government can provide legal assistance, for which the applicant has to file a simple application mentioning the financial issue. The legal awareness camps aim at spreading awareness among common masses about their legal rights. The camp provided legal education to the people who are unable to utilise their legal rights due to illiteracy, poor economic conditions or due to some social issues. A similar Legal Awareness Camp related to Pre-Natal Sex Determination and Pre-Natal Diagonastic Technique (PNDT) Act was organized at High School Thalora Manwal with the assistance of PHC Majalta . On the occasion resource person Doctor Neha made the participants aware about the said Act. Principal Vijay high School and Government High School,Thalora Amila Saloch also spoke on the occasion and appreciated effort of organzing such camps in rural areas of tehsil .
