YVWA expresses concern over dilapidated condition of Batote-Kishtwar road | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Aug 31: Youth Volunteers Welfare Association (NGO) Kishtwar , has expressed serious concern over the dilapidated condition of the Batote-Kishtwar National Highway that has become a threat to the daily commenters and claims innocent lives. In a statement, issued here today, President (YVWA) Touseef Iqbal Butt, came down heavily upon the present and last state government for its alleged negligence to safeguard the lives of innocent people in far flung areas of the state including Chenab valley. He said that the Kishtwar-Batote highway is an accident prone and vulnerable at many palces especially at Drabshalla, Phagumar , Prem Nagar,Pul Doda and Baghar. He lambested the executing agencies, added that some stretches are turned into danger zone as only single four tyre vehicles are plying on this road which are unfit on hilly roads and only double tyre vehicles could manage by a drivers on the existing roads. He claimed that the road stretch between Thattri and Kishtwar is in shambles, but the concerned department is unmoved, added that the people in the far flung areas were living at the mercy of God and the government and its officials at the helm of affairs have turned a blind eye towards the sufferings of general masses. He said that the region was enough fortunate to have the Ministers and MLC's in present government setup, but all fails to unite as far as handling the burning issue of poor roads is concerned. He demand that government should put machines in business with immediate effect on the said national highway ahead of upcoming winter season as any delay on part of the government could worsened the situation of roads in the area. |
