Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 31: Two militants are giving sleepless nights to security agencies in Kashmir valley. Both have a different modus operandi. The security agencies are clueless.
Burhan, who is emerging as the poster boy of militancy in Kashmir valley, is said to be active in south Kashmir's Tral area of Pulwama district. He is busy in recruiting youth. Another is Hizbul Mujahiddin rebel, Abdul Qayoom Najar, operating in north Kashmir's most volatile area, Sopore. He is considered to be responsible for attacks on mobile towers in the valley.
As security agencies have all the requisite information about of Burhan including his photo, they don't any such information available about Najar.
Both these militants have become faces of terror in the valley and going by the reports of intelligence agencies, there is a rise in militancy in the entire valley. People are very much concerned about it. They feel that 1990s like situation is emerging in the valley and things are going to be difficult in near future.
People are also questioning the role of intelligence agencies and Government on giving too much leniency to militants like Burhan who is very much active on social networking site Facebook. He is also entering into hearts and minds of the people of valley and few youth are trying to follow his path.
"It is certainly a matter of concern for all. Militancy related activity is taking pace and more and more youth are joining the terror outfits. Already we are facing the issue of radicalisation and if militancy increases again, things are going to be difficult," said a Kashmir based observer, who keeps an eye on political situation in the state.
The State Government must not take these things lightly and should act fast so that youth are not allowed to join the militant ranks anymore.
