Act against rumour mongers: Mufti to Police | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 3: The Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has reportedly asked the police and other investigating agencies to take strong action against the people who are spreading rumours about him not being well and he is likely to step down. According to the sources, the CM has asked the intelligence and police officials to track down the source of these rumors and take action as per the provisions of the law. "The Chief Minister is well and was in Mumbai when he received the information about rumours being spread about his ill health and also that he is admitted at the Tata hospital. He was furious and immediately asked the police and intelligence officials to track down the sources of these messages which were spread on social media especially on the Watsapp and were incidentally carried as news in many important news papers," said a PDP leader. According to the sources, the PDP and especially the Chief Minister sensed that these messages were spread to destabilize PDP-BJP coalition . "Some people are yet not willing to accept Mehbooba Mufti as the CM, though she is being groomed for a bigger role by her father Mufti Sayeed and will eventually be the next CM, but not for now, as in the initial period of the coalition Government, it's the Mufti Sayeed alone who can cement the ties much better," said a senior PDP leader. According to the sources, there are reports that some leaders of the National Conference were behind spreading such rumours as they are putting in all the efforts to break this alliance. "This attempt of the NC has become clear with Dr Farooq Abdullah sending positive signals to Prime Minister Modi. Some people are spreading the lies that Mehbooba is soft towards separatists and this would be against the ideology of the BJP if she is installed as the CM," said the leader. |
