Chatha inhabitants stage protest against bumpy roads, unscheduled power cuts | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 8: In protest against the unscheduled power cuts and poor condition of roads, the inhabitants of Bhore Camp, Chatha Farm, Chatha Pind and adjoining areas under the banner of Social Welfare Association, Block Satwari today staged a protest demonstration. As part of their protest, the locals blocked Chatha-Miransahib road near Matador stand for at least two hours. The protesters alleged that the condition of roads is so bad that frequent accidents occur in the area. They said that only yesterday an accident took place in front of Government Higher Secondary School Bhore Camp, Ward No. 2 in which one lady was seriously injured who still is in coma at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. It is needless to mention here that one leading Agriculture University is situated in the area and so many vehicles-medium as well as heavy vehicles pass on this road besides VIP vehicles, still no attention is being paid by the authorities concerned, they lamented adding that similarly frequent power cuts have made the life of people miserable. The MLA of the area and opposition leader has not bothered to visit the area since long and their whereabouts are not known, they alleged. |
