Yet another ETT scam unearthed in J&K | Owner of BEd college dupes students | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 8: Yet another Elementary Teacher Training (ETT) scam has been discovered in Jammu and Kashmir. In the latest incident, an influential businessman who is also chairman of a B Ed College in Sainik Colony forged a 'No Objection Certificate' (NoC) of an ETT institute to dupe many students and earn easy money. The businessman, known for his strong political clout, fraudulently conducted examination of over 159 students in 2009-2013 session at "Surya ETT Institute" Pathankot Road, said sources. However, no college in the name of Surya ETT Institute Pathankot exists and the NoC of Surya ETT Institute Kathua (Langate Morh) was allegedly forged by the chairman of the B Ed College to dupe students. Ironically, demand drafts of the students attached with No Objection Certificates (NoCs) were also stolen by some miscreants with the connivance of two clerks of JK BOSE. If sources are to be believed, the NoC was issued only 10 days before the commencement of exams and within 10 days the students were enrolled in "Surya ETT Institute" Pathankot. "The students got enrolled in the college after they were promised degrees without paying much and without attending regular classes," sources said. They said the influential person also shared benefits with some officers of Education Department. |
