Visa fraudster held for duping many in Rajouri, Poonch

Rajouri , Sept 8: Rajouri police today claimed to have arrested a professional fraudster from Darhal of Rajouri district for allegedly duping many people of Rajouri and Poonch district on the pretext to manage Visa for Saudi Arabia/ other countries on reasonable money.
The accused has been identified as Mohd Rashid @ Parvez s/o Misri of Khorinar in Darhal of Rajouri who allegedly was charging between Rs50,000-Rs80,0000 from his victims depending on their paying capacity and urgency shown by them.
"Immediately after the news spread about the arrests of the accused police have received 14 complaints against the professional cheater who have duped the victims of their hard earned money worth lakh of Rupees, police sources said.
"A case under FIR No 77/15 under section 420 RPC was lodged against the accused following the complaint from one Rameez Khan s/o Akhter Hussain against the accused alleging that the accused has taken Rs 80,0000 from him and his relative Fazal Hussain on the pretext that he (accused) would manage their journey to abroad within one month," said SSP Rajouri Dr Haseeb Mughal.
SSP Rajouri said, "Soon after registering a case, a team under the supervision Ifikhar Talib, SDPO, Thanamndi was constituted to investigate the case." "Acting swiftly police team headed by Mohd Sharief , SHO Police Station Darhal started investigation and it was established that after collecting money from the complainants , the accused willfully went missing to misuse the hard earned money of the victims, said police officer further adding, "Darhal police conducted a raid and arrested the accused from Darhal here today "During interrogation the accused admitted to have cheated many people and have duped lakhs of rupees from them on the pretext to manage Visas for their foreign visits/trips" he said.
"During questioning the accused revaealed his modus operandii that he used to visit to Rajouri/Darhal and targets the gullible persons who are desperate go abroad or want to arrange their visas on less amount but soon, police officer said and added once extorting money from them he simply disappears after taking their passports for months together.
SSP Rajouri added that police has recovered 6 passports from his possession collected from the victims to arrange their journey to abroad.
"The list of his victims included Bashir Ahmed r/o Mahore, Mohd Gafoor , Mohd Arif both r/o Potha , Mohd Sharief , Mohd Qayoom both r/o Thanamandi, Shammim Akhter r/o Manjakot and more complaints are pouring in from the persons who have fell prey to the accused, he added.
