Congress seeks inquiry against fake PRCs, Revenue department harasses general public 9/8/2015 11:43:19 PM EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Sept 8: Pardesh Youth Congress J&K, PYC today staged huge protest demonstration against Tehsildar Kathua at village Palli Kathua wherein PYC sought severe inquiry of forged PRCs to outsiders and harass deserving ones. The protest was led by Paramjeet Singh Pamma, State General Secy. PYC J&K. While addressing protesters, Pamma pointed out mal-functioning of revenue department and said that Tehsildar Kathua allegedly works under Political pressure and issues forged Permanent Resident certificate (PRCs) to outsiders than deserving ones. He said that the revenue department collects huge amount every day and agents work as supporters of revenue officials in Tehsildar Office Kathua that functions from DDC complex Kathua. Pamma highlighted the cases of Thuru Ram and Bachchan Lal who belong to Palli and have been approaching Tehsil Office Kathua since 2010 for PRCs and spent Rs 20,000 for process but got nothing than harassment. Pamma appealed state government to set up a severe inquiry against tainted officers who openly issue PRCs to Non-locals and harass deserving ones. Thuru Ram said he has attached all required documents and visit Tehsil office regularly but Tehsildar and other officials openly ask for sweeteners and never redress their problems for 2 years. Sikander Lal had also similar views and is being harassed for 5 years where he enclosed all required documents but file is remain with Manohar Lal official working in Tehsil Office Kathua.
