Several held for trying to lock wine shop, released

Kishtwar Sept 8: PDP's youth workers and members of student wing were arrested today, when they tried to put locks on the shutter of Wine shop in Kishtwar. The protestors led by youth leader Wasil Doolwal and incharge PDSU (students wing) Mudasir Ahanger said that "the wine shop is located in the centre of populated area beside local Jamia Masjid , Shiv Mandir, Gurdwara and educational institutions like Islamia Faridia Higher Secondary School and B.Ed College Kishtwar are also located less than 100 metres away from the wine shop.The protestors demanded immediate shifting of wine shop to some other place. As they tried to took law into their own hands Kishtwar Police rush to the spot and detained them and whisked them to police station.
Later, senior party leader Sheikh Nasir rushed to the police station and demanded release of the detainees and threatened that in case the police will continue to snub the voice raised by the masses against the social evils, the massive protest will launched. The police released all of them after furnishing the personal surety bonds. While talking to "Early Times" PDP leader said that they are committed towards the cause of shifting of wine shop. "There is already court stay over the shifting of said wine shop and district administration is constantly in touch with the excise department over the issue", said Tousif Wani, Excise inspector Doda-Kishtwar circle added that the matter has been brought into the notice of higher ups who are in constant touch with senior police officers for ensuring the security of the wine shop.
When contacted SHO Kishtwar , Sameer Jeelani said police will not allow anyone to create law and order problem in the district . Those who were taken into preventive custody by the police including Wasil doolwal ,Mubshar Gilkar. Akhter Munshi, Shabir Lone, Abid Hussain, Imtiyaz Dar, Mudasir Ahanger , Majid ,Vinay, Anil, Sajid, Iqbal Khalid Molvi.
