Under 16 cricket tournament begins at KC Sports club 9/9/2015 12:31:48 AM JAMMU, Sept 8 : With a view to identifying and encouraging young talent in sports, KC Sports Club with support from Hyundai has launched a monthly event in Cricket from August onward. Teams in the Under-16 age category have been invited from various Jammu Club to play in an Indoor under 16 Cricket tournament. The tournament would offer the youngsters the opportunity to showcase their talent. Today the match was played in the air-conditioned indoor Cricket Hall with 9 pitches, 5 fast and 4 spin pitches with surface of 16000sq. ft. The Tiger Turf surface imported from New Zealand and ideally suited for both pace and spin bowling as well as for batting. Automatic Bola bowling machine is also available for batting practice. The match was played between Young Warrior Cricket Club and Tiger Cricket Club. The teams were played as per the rules of the indoor Cricket prevalent in the world today. Both the teams played the match with great zeal. The result at the end of the match was as follows. Young Warrior Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first Young Warrior put up a score of 72 runs in 16 overs. Tazim, Akshat and Harshit scored 21, 16 and 12 runs respectively. From bowling side Ansh and Rihan took 3 wickets each while Arihant took 1 wicket. In reply, Tiger Cricket Club lost all the wicket s at 66 in 15.2 over and lost the match. Samarth scored 19 runs for his side, Savirya scored 16 runs and Arihant made 12 run. From bowling side Hanzala took 4 wickets, Devatas and Pranav took 2 wickets each.
