Postpone humanitarian paper: JU law students | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 17: Students of the sixth semester of Law department Jammu university are demanding that university should postpone the humanitarian paper scheduled to be held on September 29 just two days after Eid-ul -Azha which is also known as 'Bakra Eid.'Students want admin to postpone the paper in wake of the auspicious occasion as Eid is observed for three days. Sources told Early Times when students approached the HoD, he told them that paper cannot be postponed and students should celebrate Eid in Jammu. "There is a practice in a Law department that date sheet comes first as tentative but this time date sheet came as final leaving no scope for the students to go for any alteration," sources added. Students are caught between devil and deep sea as they are not been able to understand whether their exam would be postponed or not and students leaders who otherwise prefer to raise hue and cry too are acting as mute spectators. Students said that they reside in far flung areas and Eid is an annual festival and it is must for us to celebrate it with our family members. When contacted HoD Law Prof Arvind Jasrotia said: "Decision regarding this is yet to be taken and we are going to reschedule the paper there would be no postponement of the exam". |
