| Murder mystery cracked, main accused held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 17: Gandhi Nagar police today claimed to have cracked a murder mystery with the arrest of main accused who murdered his wife over alleged illicit relations.
Police have identified the accused as husband of deceased- Krishna of Panchrukhi, District Bewan, Bihar presently at Sec- 6, Near Chotta Gurudwara Nanak Nagar, Jammu.
"The arrest was made by SI Sohit Trikha under close supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, SDPO City South Sachin Gupta and SSP, Jammu Uttam Chand, police spokesperson said.
Police spokesman said that on August 24, information received through PCR Jammu at Gandhi Nagar police station to the effect that dead body of one female lying in a Jhuggi near Gurudwara Nanak Nagar. On this police party from Gandhi Nagar police station, Jammu headed by SI Sohit Trikha immediately reached the spot and found that one Pooja Devi wife of Krishna of Panchrukhi, District Bewan, Bihar Presently at sector No. 6, Near Chotta Gurudwara Nanak Nagar, Jammu was murdered by some unknown person by strangulating her throat.
"Accordingly a case under FIR No. 215/2015 under section 302 of RPC registered at Gandhi Nagar police station, Jammu and investigation started, he added.
"During course of investigation family members of deceased Pooja Devi alleged that their daughter was murdered by her husband namely Krishna, police said, adding, "as their daughter already had complaint to them about the harassment/tortured by her husband and moreover he is underground from the day their daughter was murdered."
Police spokesman further said that on this police party from Gandhi Nagar police station, Jammu headed by SI Sohit Trikha investigation officer of the case, conducted raids simultaneously in different parts of city and outskirts and finally apprehended the husband of the deceased.
"The accused during sustained questioning confessed his crime saying that he murdered his wife Pooja Devi because he has doubt that his wife have some illicit relations", added spokesman.
"During questioning it was also come into surface that the accused was earlier also arrested by Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station in connection with murder of his real brother and is presently on bail, police added. |
