JTC alleges corruption in Relief Organization, undue delay in case settlements | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 17: Alleging that some officers in the Relief Organization are indulging in corrupt practices, the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K said today that the lure of such officials to earn easy money is proving out to be an hindrance in smooth settlement of cases. The allegation was leveled by JTC and SKF president Shadi Lal Pandita while addressing a press conference here today. Shadi Lal Pandita said though R.K. Pandita, Commissioner Relief Organization (RRM) Jammu is sincere, honest and dedicated officer committed to the welfare of the general masses besides eradicating corruption from Relief Organization but it is unfortunate that some officers at the helm of affairs in the Organization are committed to boost corruption by adopting delaying tactics in settling the cases of the beneficiaries on one pretext or the other. Quoting an instance Pandita said that one Sumit Pandita, a registered migrant from Kashmir valley who has been granted registration by Relief Organisation under Relief Category and was issued a Ration card for four souls two majors and two minors. Pandita further said that Sumit's minor son namely Krishan Pandita has attained age of four plus as such is entitled to admissible relief and ration assistance and in this connection the concerned person made a representation to the authorities for sanctioning and releasing the cash assistance and Ration in favour of his son having attained age of four years plus as per norms but surprisingly the Deputy Commissioner in the Relief Organization is delaying the case by making lame excuses. He alleged that this all is being done deliberately to get the palms greased of the corrupt officers and putting the deserving migrant to sufferings. Pandita said that despite recommendations by the concerned authorities viz. Camp Commandant Jagti Zone-A for sanctioning and releasing admissible cash assistance and ration in favour of the minor having attained age of four plus years vide communication No. CCJT/A/518 dated 08.09.2015, the case has not been settled to extend benefits to the beneficiary. |
