Judicial custody of LeT terrorist Naved, two others extended by 14 days

Jammu, Sept 17: In a much publicized Udhampur Attack Case, the special designated NIA Court today extended the judicial custody of LeT Pak terrorist Mohd Naved @ Usman, Khursheed Ahmed Bhat and Showkat Ahmed upto September 30.
NIA team today morning produced trio including LeT Pak based terrorist Mohd Naved @ Usman, in the Court of Special Judge NIA for extension of judicial remand. Two BSF personnel were martyred, a militant was killed while the one (Naved) was arrested alive during an attack on BSF convoy on August 5 near Samroli in Udhampur district.
Special Judge NIA Court, Y P Kotwal after perusal of the CD file further observed that the investigation of the case is in progress and investigation of the case is scattered across various places of J&K and more persons are involved in conspiracy which needs to be verified. With these observations, the Court extended the fourteen days Judicial Remand of Mohammad Naved son of Mohd Yaqoob r/o Gulam Mohammadabad Kookianwala, Faisalabad Punjab Pakistan, Khursheed Ahmed Bhat s/o Ghulam Mohammad Bhat r/o Bhatpora Chursoo Awantipora, Pulwama and Showkat Ahmed Bhat s/o Ali Mohd Bhat r/o Village Khardermuch of District Pulwama, with the direction to NIA to lodged the accused on Kot-Bhalwal Jail and produced the accused before the Court on expiry of the remand period and also directed to get medically examined to the accused after every 48 hours.
All the accused have been arrested in case RC-08/2015/NIA/DLI of P/S NIA New Delhi for the offences u/s 120/120-B/121/302/307 RPC, 7/27 Amrs Act, 14 A of Foreigner's Act and 15/16/18/20 Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967. (JNF)
