Tail-end villages in Vijaypur without electricity, water: Manjit Singh | | | Early Times Report Vijaypur, Sept 17: Former Minister and Congress General Secretary Manjit Singh today flayed administration for their failure to provide water and electricity to the farmers at the tail end villages along the International Border. Referring to the difficulties being experienced by the villagers, Singh said that the people have been facing acute shortage of electricity due to which the people are unable to operate water pumps adding that this is cultivation season and instead of providing facilities like water for irrigation and electricity, the administration has turned a deaf ears towards their predicament which has brought the villagers at the verge of starvation forcing them to live a miserable life. Manjit Singh further alleged that from the day one the present dispensation took oath, the coalition partner BJP has been working against the interests and wishes of the people in J&K just for the hack of sticking to the power. Manjit Singh urged upon the Government to look into the burning issues of the people instead of dividing the people and stressed that the demands of the farmers be fulfilled promptly averting a situation which would compel the farmers to come on the roads to get their grievances redressed. |
