ARTO Samba realizes Rs. 1.2 lacs fine, seizes 17 vehicles | Organizes "Orientation cum interaction programme" | | Early Times Report Samba, Sept 17: A team of Motor Vehicle Department led by ARTO Samba Er. Kuldeep Singh conducted extensive checking and imposed penalty of Rs 1.20 lacs on traffic rule violators and seized 17 vehicles including 10 Trucks and one Bus for various traffic violations. During the drive, two Haryana Road Ways and Uttaranchal Road Ways Buses were heavily compounded by the ARTO for plying without valid permits or counter signatures. Numbers of vehicles were challaned for plying without HSRP, Pollution Certificate, token tax, valid driving license, permits, overloading and various other violations under the provision of MV Act, 1988. Meanwhile, ARTO Samba also organized an "Orientation cum interaction programme" with Auto-Rickshaw drivers/operators union at New Bus Stand Samba regarding 100% installation of fare meters and to ensure fare charging as per the notified rates by the government. The Auto-Rickshaw drivers were also directed to wear uniform while driving vehicles and ensure that no fleecing of passengers is done by any operator .He asked them to visit his Office any time for any type of assistance under rules. During the camp, the Auto-Rickshaw operators/drivers union also highlighted their problems before the ARTO and was assured that their issues would be projected before District administration for further consideration and appropriate action. ARTO urged upon all the road users to follow traffic rules ,wear seats belts and wear Crash Helmets as these are mandatory under section 128 and 129 Of MV Act 1988 for both pillion and rider. |
