Poor students real victims of privatization of education: CVSA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 17: The Chenab Valley Students Association (CVSA) has said that poor students of Jammu and Kashmir are the real victims of privatization of education and culture of private tuitions. Talking to media persons here today in Jammu, CVSA state president Mehran Anjum Mir said that private tuitions became a fashion in education system and it is spreading like a jungle fire which adversely affected the poor students who can't afford this fashion. He appealed to the Education Minister to check the management of private tutorials in J&K particularly government teachers who were imparting private tuitions besides forcing the students of schools to join private tutorials. He mentioned that since the present coalition government is claiming to streamline the education scenario of J&K and promoting government schools for the same, then government must take the issue of privatization of education in J&K issue seriously and immediate concrete steps should be taken without wasting any time. "Ambition and choice are two words with different meanings. Ambition is imaginary while choice is based on certain reasons. But it is the matter of great concern that students belonging from economically weaker section of the society have no option but to sacrifice", Mehran mentioned. |
