Jammu, Oct 4 : Additional Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh today inaugurated Jammu district badminton championship here at Police Badminton hall.
According to press release, IGP Jammu Danesh Rana presided over the opening ceremony.
This tournament has been organized by the Jammu City and District Badminton Association affiliated to Jammu and Kashmir Badminton Association supported by Police Department.
The aim of the association to provide basic sports facilities to the talent young emerging players as well new generation and also to keep them physically and mentally healthy. More than three hundred players were participated on day first in different categories under 10, 13,15,17,19, boys/girls, men/women and veterans, veteran mix double total 26 events.
These matches are being played as per the rules governed by the Badminton Association of India (BAI) under the supervision of Satpal Sharma. NIC Coach, Dr. O.D Sharma, Secretary General, JKBA and Vice President (BAI), Balbir Singh Jamwal, Sunil Gurkha, Anil, Skhdev, Raju Chawal, Pawan Pairhar, Sanjay Jain, P.D. Singh were also present. |
