MIER organizes musical evening 10/29/2015 11:53:28 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 29 : The premises of Model Institute of Education and Research (MIER) reverberated with the musical evening under the banner "Kalakriti" in HL Gupta Auditorium. The chief guest on the occasion was Dr Arun K Gupta, Chairman, MIER whereas Dr. Renu Gupta, Director, MIER was the guest of honour. The evening started with lighting of the lamp followed by "Ganesh Vandana" which was sung by Vivek Mohan, a renowned singer and son of a renowned music composer Brij Mohan. Mehvish presented a Classical devotional song "Om Namah Shivaye". Model Rockers, the choir group of the school mesmerized the audience with their soulful performance of a Sufi song "Saieen Mera Sacha Saieen Tu Hai". Vidhi Jaswalof Indian Idol fame and a modelite sang a popular Punjabi folk song "Challa". Another Modelite, Asif Khan sang a sufi number "Saiyaan" , he was accompanied by Anugrah Vali on the synthesizer . Dogri culture was wonderfully depicted in the dogri songs sung by Rahul Kumar, Rabjyot Singh and Gursharan Kour. The icing on the cake was the lively and vibrant Ghazal singing by none other than Sham Sajan ,a renowned Music Composer and singer who sang melodious Ghazals and enthralled the audience with his amazing voice.
