AAWA hails initiative of CM, Minister of Culture to reopen Abhinav theatre | | | Jammu, Oct 29 : All Artists' Welfare Association of Jammu hailed the CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and also Minister of Culture for their joint initiatives to reopen the Abhinav theatre in the month of November this year. Addressing media persons, president Dr. Kamal Sharma expressed his thanks to the CM who is also the president of Academy took utmost important and welcome step for the promotion and development of performing art and culture of the Jammu region which had had almost loosened its breath due to the defunct of Abhinav Theatre which is the only and premiere auditorium of its unique style made for Drama and theatre experiments and promotion. Kamal Sharma said, the association had also given the similar kind of press conference which was held in the last month wherein the government was made aware about the difficulties faced by the artist's fraternity. He appealed to the CM that the Doordarshan is left defunct as the sufficient finds are not being allocated by the government of India. We appealed to the CM that the matter may be taken-up with the P.M and the concern ministry for its immediate up-gradation at par with the other Kendra of India. However, he expressed gratitude that association's voice has been listened and due to which the auditorium is being re-opened. Er. Vijay Sharma Chairman, Baljeet Raina and Vice Chairman Aawaj appreciated the initiative said with the opening of the defunct auditorium the art and the artist will get a fresh breathe as they will get a platform to exhibit and showcase their creativity and innovations by organizing the various cultural, theatrical and literary activities. |
