These reports have been apparently planted to create a sort of confusion and dissent in the party," a senior PDP leader said. According to the sources, there is no question of Drabu moving to RBI. The sources said deputy governnor of the RBI is a very prestigious post and can't be filled on the political whims and fancies. "It's laughable suggestion that Drabu is moving to the RBI. The RBI posts are not freebies for political consideration. A panel of eminent economists are made and then the final call is taken. See how RBI Governor Raghuraman is sometimes making comments and suggestions contrary to the view point of the government but even then the government holds him in respect. That's the presitige of the institution built over the years with persons of impeccable intellectual integrity holding it," said the sources. The sources said the Mufti Sayeed has reposed faith in the economic capabilities of the Drabu and he doesn't want to shift him now. "Shifting Drabu now is just out of question. Drabu has been mandated to bring about economic changes, He has promised a lot to Mufti Sahab and now when he is just trying to get a foothold he will not be shifted.
