Court issues non-bailable warrant against accused cops | Wamiq Farooq death case | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 20 : A local court today issued non-bailable warrant against two accused cops in Wamiq Farooq death case. After hearing the counselor Advocate Aijaz Ahmad representing the aggrieved family of Wamiq Farooq (Class 7th student) who was killed on January 312010 public uprising, Forest Magistrate Srinagar, B A Munshi directed Senior Superintendent Srinagar to arrest the two accused cops forthwith. The court asked J&K police to present the duo the ASI Ab Khaliq and the SPO Muhammad Akram on December 1 next date of hearing. Pertinent to mention that Assistant Sub-Inspector Abdul Khaliq had appealed Supreme Court of India against then trial going-on in Srinagar court which has been rejected twice by the apex court. Both the orders were later submitted to High Court of Jammu and Kashmir which were subsequently submitted before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Srinagar. However, CJM had already ordered a magisterial enquiry in the case and the present CJM, Masrat Shaheen, transferred the case to Forest Magistrate who gave the verdict today hearing Advocate Aijaz Ahmad. |
