Communal harmony week celebrated at Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar Nov 26: Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with Education Department Kishtwar today celebrated Communal Harmony week at community hall of Boys Higher Secondary School Kishtwar in which large number of students, media persons, members of teaching community participated. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan presided over the function as Chief Guest while Assistant Commissioner Development Akthar Qazi, CEO Kishtwar Abdul Hamid Fani, Principal HSS Boys Parmila Sharma, Deputy CEO Kishtwar Pralad Baghat and cultural Officer Nisar Doolwal were the special invitees. The speakers in their address threw light on the importance of maintaining communal harmony, peace and brotherhood and urged upon the students and the participants to become the ambassadors of peace and communal harmony. They also laid stress on inculcating moral and religious education in schools adding that only proper religious education will bring an end to uncertainty created by some elements who wants to divide the people on the name of religion. In his address Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar said that India is country of diversity where people from different religions are living in communal harmony and mutual brotherhood. He said that constitution of India safeguarded the religious and cultural identity of its citizen despite the fact people with different faiths, culture and languages are living in the country where everybody has right to preach and worship according to its own religion in free and fear atmosphere. |
