Early Times Report

Anantnag, Nov 26: Tension gripped Janglat-Mandi area of Anantnag district on Thursday after rumors that a landmine has been spotted on Achabal-Anantnag road.
Reports said at around 8:00 am army and police cordoned off area around famous temple Shiwala Mandir in Janglat-Mandi area after a ROP informed them about the presence of a landmine.
They said that traffic on Achabal-Anantnag road was too stopped for hours together. Reports said that heavy presence of forces in the area created panic.
"Huge number of army personals cordoned off our locality early in the morning and we were told they have spotted a landmine," Sameer Ahmad, a local resident said.
Official source said that experts were called in after sniper dogs signaled about the presence of landmine, however the reports proved hoax as the 'landmine' was nothing but a wired cardboard box.
