DB seeks personal appearance of CS, Secy HE | Contempt in GDC Majalta case: | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 26: In a contempt petition filed in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) which was disposed of in the year 2002 by the Court on the assurance of then Advocate General (AG) that Govt has already taken initial steps for setting-up a Degree College at Majalta, a Division Bench (DB) of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat directed Chief Secretary and Commissioner Secretary to appear in person on December 1, in case the respondents fail to implement the judgment A Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat after hearing Adv Abhinav Sharma appearing for the contempt petition whereas AAG Rakesh Khajuria appearing for the state, directed Chief Secretary and Commissioner Secretary to appear in person on December 1, 2015 for not implemented the judgment. In the year 2002, the then Advocate General (AG) also extended assurance that the state Govt shall accord actively consideration to such claim in respect of Chenani, Sunderbani, Kalakote and towns/ areas and that an effort would be made to submit concrete proposals and get the proposals cleared as far as possible during current financial year. --(JNF) |
