Jammu, Nov 26: As the menace of drug is gradually griping "City of the Temples", Team Jammu-an organization of young professionals, social activists, sports persons, doctors, journalists, lawyers, educationists and intellectuals, has taken the initiative to get the Jammu rid of this menace.
To create awareness among youth against drug abuse, Team Jammu is going to hold a massive anti-drug rally on November 28 in which youth from all corners of Jammu will participate to contribute in the social cause. "It is a beginning of our campaign against drug abuse in Jammu. Our priority is to involve as many as youth in the proposed rally to give a message to the society that youth of Jammu are ready to shoulder the responsibility of making this city free from drug abuse", said Zorawar Singh Jamwal, chairman of Team Jammu. "In a small initiative to make youth aware of drugs abuse and its effects on life", Zorawar Singh, who is also Secretary General of Press Club of Jammu, said and exuded confidence that this small initiative will soon take a shape of big mass movement in Jammu region", he hoped.
"A full-fledged survey was being conducted by the Team Jammu in past 8 to 10 months and it came to fore that despite being highly educated and qualified, youth of Jammu are falling prey to drug addiction as there are hardly any job avenues and employment schemes generated by the government,'' Singh revealed. |
