JAMMU, Dec 20 : Baba Meer Shah Akhara Domana bagged the overall championship trophy in the
12th Jammu District Indian Style Wrestling Championship, organized by Jammu District Indian Style Wrestling Association under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and sponsored by the J&K State Sports Council, at Mahavir Akhara Ashok Nagar Satwari.
Around 40 wrestlers participated in six different weight categories of 55 Kg, 61 Kg, 67 Kg, 75 Kg, 85 Kg and 97 Kg.
In the prize distribution function of this day-long meet, Joint Secretary of J&K State Sports Council, and treasurer of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma was chief guest while chairman of the State Association, Prem Choudhary presided. Retired police officer, PR Sharma, Inderjeet Khajuria and Bansi Lal Tidyal were guests of honour.
Director competition, NIS coach Mulk Raj Sharma conducted the proceedings while vote of thanks presented by general secretary, Bansi Lal Tidyal. The bouts were officiated by Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Ram Paul Sharma and Surinder Kumar Sharma.
Among others present were Ram Paul Sharma, Om Parkash Kapoor, Karan Singh, Surinder Kumar Sharma, Mulk Raj Sharma NIS Wrestling Coach and Rakesh khajuria.
