Let NFSA be not diluted in J&K, BJP tells PDP
12/20/2015 11:35:30 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 20 :BJP has told its alliance partner PDP that no step should be taken to dilute in any form the National Food Security Act (NFSA), it is in line with the agenda of the Modi government to bring transparency in the public distribution system. "The PDP shouldn't succumb to the pressure tactics of National Conference which is indulging in conspiracies to defame and malign the Modi government more than PDP and in the process, is trying to undermine the credibility of both the parties," said a senior BJP leader.
He said the BJP high command had also communicated to PDP that it should also not send conflicting signals as the consumer affairs minister was giving by saying that the ministry would try to incorporate new realities also.
"The PDP shouldn't give conflicting statements. It sends a message that the party is succumbing to the pressure tactics of NC, which is not acceptable especially when the Act is trying to bring transparency and end corruption and this is the plank on which the NC was rooted out. PDP must understand it," the BJP leader said. "Even the pro-Pakistan separatists are opposed to the implementation of the Act in the state which clearly shows that it's seen as an Act of BJP, which it is forcing on the government. But, the fact is it's an Act passed by the previous government and BJP is only ensuring that it is implemented in the state. The political connotations attached to it are understandable and we will not allow anyone to subvert the agenda of good governance which also has strong connotation that J&K is not separable rather integral part of the country," said the leader.
