NWGF selects Gulmarg for holding national winter games Zahoor Ragi 12/20/2015 11:14:39 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 20 : As a big boost to promote Jammu and Kashmir as the winter destination, the National Winter Games Federation has selected Gulmarg for national winter games which are matter of pride for the State. This was stated by the Secretary Tourism Farooq A Shah while chairing a meeting with Director Tourism Kashmir, General Secretary JK Winter Games Association and other officials in Srinagar today . The participants from different states will arrive on 31th to take part in activities like skiing and other winter games to be held from Ist to 4th. Of JaN 2016 . This mega event will be jointly organized by JK Tourism Department, jk winter games association and Indian Olympic Association. Farooq said that our state as a whole has potential to become international attraction for such events specifically for winter games because we have immense potential which has to be utilised in places like Gulmarg ,Patnitop ,Pahalgam and Sonamarg adding that CM is seriously monitoring the process of upgradation of relevent infrastructure in these places .The Secretary impressed upon the Tourism Department , JKTDC and other Associations and Bodies to work rigorously for realizing the dream of Chief Minister who eager to see Jammu and Kashmir as round the year tourism destination. .   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
