| Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 20 : Referring to the repeated statements of Dr. Jitendra Singh MoS in PM's office regarding abolition of interviews for junior posts, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and former Minister observed that charity must begin at home. Pointing towards the recent GAD notification issued by the J&K Govt. mandating interviews for all non gazetted posts including class IV posts, Harsh Dev Singh said that rather than delivering homilies to others Dr. Jitender Singh would do well to make a beginning from his own state. He said that it was shocking that the State govt. should issue a fresh notification making interviews mandatory in total disregard for the repeated assurances of the Prime Minister as well as continuous communiqués of Department of Personal and Training (DoPT) Govt. of India on the subject. Making a particular mention of the announcements of PM Narendra Modi, for discontinuance of such interviews, on August 15, from the ramparts of Red Fort and during his 'Mann Ki Baat' as also the successive meetings held by MoS in PMO with various state govts dated Sept. 4, Sept. 29 and Nov. 16, Harsh Dev Singh regretted that the J&K Govt. had chosen to defy the same for reasons best known to them. Pointing further towards the statement of Dr. Jitender Singh appearing in the local media on 18th Dec, 2015, Harsh Dev Singh deplored that the same was also in sharp contrast to the recent notifications of J&K Govt. which had made oral test compulsory after the written test. He was addressing a press conference here in Jammu today. |
