KATHUA, Dec 20: Ongoing 6th Police Martyr Memorial T-20 interclub North Zone Cricket tournament organised jointly by J&K Police and Shaheed Welfare Committee at Sports Stadium, gets underway at Kathua. In the two different matches of today, PSPCL Patiala and Sandhu Cricket club Ludhiana registered victory against their rivals, Friends Club delhi and Prade Sports Association Jammu respectively. In the match between PSPCL Patiala and Friends Club Delhi, Friends club won the toss and elected to field and restricted PSPCL at 136 runs in 20 overs. Himanshu scored 59 and Xitish scored 44 wherein Pulkit and Sharan from Friends club were the leading wicket takers with 2 wickets each. While replying, Friends Club got bundled at 109 only and lost the match. For PSPCL, Keshav got 4 wickets and Harpreet got 2 wickets. Himanshu from PSPCL was delared Man of the Match. In the other match between Prade Sports Association and Sandhu Cricket Club, Prade Sports Association bundled at 90 only after batting 1st. Jatin was the lead scorer with 16 runs followed by Vishavjeet's 14 runs. Gurpreet from SCC took 3 wickets and Gopi got 2 wickets. While replying, Sandhu Cricket Club Ludhiana chased the target easily with a loss of 3 wickets only. Anil scored 31 runs and got the Man of the match. Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Additional Director General of J&K Police, Dr S P Vaid amidst tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives while defending the country. |
