JU scholars, authorities lock horns | Raj Bhawan intervention sought | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 24: While most of the teachers in Jammu University have extended support to the vice-chancellor through their Facebook accounts, the students have made clear that all is not well in the highest seat of learning in Jammu. A group of four research scholars have sought intervention of the Raj Bhawan over an issue which they believe is similar to the suicide episode of Hyderabad Central University. The JU authorities have urged the four scholars to have faith in the system. The vice-chancellor has even assured redressal of their grievances. The authorities have blamed an employee who according to them has joined active politics. Urging the scholars to remain vigilant while dealing with the `blackmailers' in the media, the authorities advised them to honour the high court directions. The scholars, it may be mentioned, had preferred a petition in the High Court against the JU authorities. "In fact students are our life in the University and we have no meaning without our students. Hence students are advised to be calm and truthful to their work as per highly transparent JU System and their all our truthful efforts will result into time tested fruits," the authorities said. |
