| 8 RR organizes blood donation camp | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Jan 24: As part of Republic Day 2016 celebrations, 8 Rashtrya Rifles in association with District administration, Indian Red Cross Society and NACO unit District Hospital Kishtwar today organized a blood donation camp at Helipad Kishtwar. In order to encourage the local youths and army personnel to donate blood for the noble cause, Brigadier 9 Sector RR Ashit Bajpai also donated blood to mark the beginning of the blood donation camp. Ghulam Nabi Balwan District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Sandeep Wazir SSP Kishtwar, Dr Parvaiz Iqbal Wani Medical Superintendent District Hospital kishtwar, Additional SP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom, Red Cross volunteer Asgar Ali Sheikh along with other civil administrative officials and social activists were also present on the occasion. DDC Kishtwar hailed the initiative taken by the Army and termed blood donation as a noble cause added that this initiative of Army is a true testimony of its image of a true saviour of the nation. The event recived an overwhealing response with locals and Army personnel participating in this camp and donated the blood for the needy people as Kishtwar District is considered as accidental prone District and always faces shortage of blood during emergency. |
