Betrayed Jammu will decimate treacherous BJP: Hari Om
4/5/2016 10:52:30 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, April 5: Reacting to the brazen manner in which BJP and PDP hatched a conspiracy to further consolidate the Valley's domination and hegemony over the state politics and people of Jammu province, Prof Hari Om on Tuesday dismissed the new dispensation as patently anti-Jammu and fundamentally Kashmir-centric. "It will surely prove a boon for Kashmir and curse for Jammu," he said, adding that betrayed Jammu will surely decimate BJP as and when it gets the opportunity.
"It is as worse and as anti-Jammu as the one late Mufti Sayeed had handed down on March 1, 2015 in collaboration with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah and their ultra-secular and out-and-out Delhi-based pro-Kashmir henchmen and power-brokers. In the new dispensation, it will be PDP and separatists like Sajad Lone who will reign supreme. The only duty of the compromising, indolent and intellectually sterile BJP in the cabinet and the government would be, like in the past, only to endorse the PDP's anti-Jammu and pro-separatist policy," said Prof Hari Om while commenting on the composition and complexion of the cabinet and share of Jammu as far as allocation of portfolios between the two parties were concerned. People of Jammu province have been rigorously excluded and reduced to a nullity for all practical purposes, lamented Prof Hari Om.
By becoming uncritical supporters of PDP, BJP has lost its face and become thoroughly unpopular in Jammu, he said.
Prof Hari Om pooh-poohed and debunked the claim of BJP that it got equal share for Jammu province in the cabinet and government and set the record straight, saying that while Kashmir province grabbed 10 berths in the cabinet and BJP could get only six for the poor, marginalized and ignored Jammu province. He also lambasted BJP for surrendering the Social Welfare Department.
He said that the PDP with the full backing of the Prime Minister and Amit Shah not only retained control over all major portfolios, including Home, Finance, General Administration Department, Finance, Planning, Tourism, Revenue, Public Works, Education, Law and Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, Agriculture, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Relief and Rehabilitation, Social Welfare, ARI and Trainings, Culture, Labour, Employment, Cooperatives, Information Technology, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Estates, Hospitality and Protocol, but also snatched Social Welfare Department from Jammu province.
He added that Jammu, which will be in a minority in the all-powerful cabinet that takes policy decisions and shapes the socio-economic and political future of people, got only financially starved Power Development and Public Health Engineering, sick Industry, bankrupt Transport, ill-equipped Health, controversial Forest and Housing and Urban Development departments, which are known more corrupt practices than anything else.
Prof Hari Om urged the people of Jammu province to sit up to find if they committed a grave blunder by voting for the anti-Jammu, pro-Kashmir and separatist-friendly BJP and if they came to the conclusion that they did, then they must get united to get rid of the anti-Jammu PDP-BJP Raj and work for a dispensation that is independent of Kashmir and that is exclusively of them, by them and for them. Any failure on their part at this critical juncture would only to create a situation that would leave them with no option but to migrate from their land of Chenab and Tawi, he warned.
Prof Hari Om also appealed to the Jammu-based media to follow in the footsteps of its Kashmiri counterpart so that people of Jammu province could protect their self-respect and throw out lock, stock and barrel the Kashmiri yoke. He urged Jammu-based nationalist media to look today's edition of Kashmir-based dailies, which virtually congratulated Mehbooba Mufti for retaining control over all "major departments".
