4/5/2016 10:52:54 PM

M S NAZKI
Poonch, Apr 5: A labourer has allegedly been denied wages for the works he had done under NREGA in his village in 2012, sources said here today.
Mubarik Hussain, son of Nazir Hussain of Bhati Dhar in Mendhar, said, "I had done ground leveling work worth Rs 50,000 in 2012 but till date I have not been paid even a single penny," he said, adding, "When I asked a concerned employee to release my wages, he asked for commission."
Though he was alleged to have paid Rs 9,000 to someone, the wages had yet not been released, he said.
He had also brought the matter to the notice of BDO, Mendhar, Tariq Aziz who had assured that an action in the matter would be initiated with immediate effect and wages to the labourer would be released soon.
Anyone found guilty of denying wages to labourers would be dealt with iron hand, the BDO said.
