Over 1200 patients treated, given free medicines in medical camp by Army | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 24: Over 1200 patients, including women and children, were treated and given free medicines at a medical camp organized by Army in a remote village in Kashmir valley. Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel N N Joshi here said keeping up to the demands of local populace, Victor Force under the aegis of Chinar Corps organised a free medical camp under Sadhbhavana at village Pohru in Kashmir. "A team of Army doctors of Victor Force, civil doctors of Pampore including female doctors and paramedics provided medical consolation to more than 1200 people of nearby villages and distributed free medicines," he said. Col Joshi said a health awareness campaign was also conducted at the venue on hygiene and sanitation, life style diseases and importance of vaccination to mitigate sufferings of residents of area. "Local expressed their gratitude towards Army for this noble gesture of providing essential healthcare at a time when there is an upsurge of infectious diseases especially respiratory and skin diseases because of the ongoing rains," he said. "Mohammad Ramzan Wani, Sarpanch of the village Pohru hailed Army for organising the Medical Camp and said that such initiatives will help in strengthening the bond between Army and the local populace and wished for more such initiatives in future," Col Joshi added. |
