JU ignores action on decision of Syndicate, proposes council meet | ARs selection row | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 24: For fear of bad repercussions while complying with the resolution passed in University Syndicate meet held on 25-1-2016 to refer the case to Crime Branch for thorough investigation, the Jammu university is all set to place the resolution 109.61(c) in the meeting of University Council scheduled for Monday. A document available with the Early Times reveals that as per Agenda item No: 80.36, the Vice Chancellor has desired "all resolutions under item 109.61 be reported to the University Council in its next meeting as these decision have far reaching implications" and "resolution No: 109.61 (c) be placed before the Syndicate again with complete history of the matter as the same was not done its last meeting". The sources pointed out that the varsity has not cleared the far reaching implications of the decisions taken under above item, which sound absurd but interesting to note, added further that since the matter of referring the case to Crime Branch as resolved in last Syndicate meeting has become a source of headache for the university authority for its own wrong doings, allegedly involving the daughter of the high profile officer of the Institution, the university has invented a ploy to take the shelter of University Council hoodwinking the supreme forum to have the controversial resolution reversed back again to Syndicate via University Council and what is astonishing that the said item was placed before Syndicate without complete history of the matter which speaks of grossly casual approach of Registrar intended to buy time and procrastinate the issue involving a female candidate who reportedly fell much behind the well merited candidates emerged after entrance test for the interview of Assistant Registrar in Kathua Campus. The sources told that if at all a call letter was sent by the university to a candidate having not appeared in the entrance test, as the document revealed, the University authority could have tackled this issue on its own merit by taking stern action against defaulters responsible for issuing such interview call and excluded the said candidate from the list of other eligible candidate called for interview, further said, adding that if there was no hanky panky, which overwise appears, the University should have continued with the process of scheduled interview for the post of Asstt. Registrars, but the varsity preferred to cancel the whole process of interview just on flimsy grounds for the hack of one female candidate who allegedly did not have bright prospectus to get selected in the interview, which obviously requires to be investigated by the Crime Branch, as already resolved in the University Syndicate meeting as per resolution 109.61(c). The sources in the university further informed that most of the resolutions passed in the last meeting of Syndicate have been implemented, although these too were allegedly fraught flaws as it did not seemingly hit the interests of some people in the University and if the University found that the item No: 109.61 was not properly presented with detailed history of the case in the Syndicate meeting, the University can now better present in the University Council meeting with detailed history to be held tomorrow, which is the highest forum to take befitting decision impartially on such controversial issues and certainly it ought to be, if there is no fear haunting the Jammu University for any complicity at any level for doing wrongs. |
