The concerned department has different wing to check menace of stray dogs which are visible on the roads, lanes, Mohallas in city and the people have accused the officials of failing to control the population coupled with great resentment against them as these dogs are on 'prowl' especially during nights and there have been incidents where these dogs have attacked children and chased two wheelers, resulting into accidents. Sources told Early Times that Panic gripped the masses but the wing entrusted with this job of checking stray dog menace has adopted lackadaisical approach to its duties, resulting in alarming increase in canine population in the city.
