Senior BJP leader losing ground, may end up in trouble | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 24: A senior BJP leader who is very close to New Delhi is losing ground in BJP and RSS circles. It became quite clear when former minister, considered close to the BJP leader, was not re-inducted in the cabinet. The former minister in late Mufti's cabinet was a close aide of the senior BJP leader, who claims to be leader and the face of the Jammu. He was given a strong position as Jammu was to be given representation and he was considered articulate. However, things ended here and he couldn't get along with the local leadership of the Jammu region. Sources said that RSS leadership was receiving consistent complaints that he is not only ignoring the local leadership but is also 'fomenting' troubles for the party. The RSS leadership had brought this fact before the Central leadership and it's then they decided not to support the candidate of the senior leader, though the dropped BJP minister was considered for the post of junior minister. Sources said he was dropped to send a message to the senior BJP leader that he is not the boss. "We had held several deliberations on the reasons for the AIIMS agitation and also on the controversy over Dogra certificate. They were clearly stoked and it was considered a classic case of anti-party activities. Such things can't be tolerated and a message was needed to be sent," said a senior BJP leader. The BJP central leadership has made it clear to the state ministers that corruption and anti-party activities will not be tolerated and it's for this reason that one cabinet minister was dropped and the portfolio of the other was changed. The decision of the central leadership has sent a message and it has reportedly gone down well. |
