Raina Colony residents demand landline connectivity | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 24: The residents of Raina Colony in Babliana area of Jammu city have requested the authorities of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to provide landline connectivity to their locality. Around 40-50 residents of the colony have urged the BSNL authorities to provide BSNL landline and broadband connectivity in the area as it is deprived of any sort of connectivity through BSNL. "In the age when we are moving towards digital India, the residents of Raina Colony have been deprived of basic landline and broadband facilities. We urge the BSNL authorities to immediately lay the cable so as to provide connectivity to our locality", Sikander Pal Singh, a resident of Raina colony said. He said that in the age of digital India connectivity to internet is vital as the student community and the working class need internet connection to stay updated and for other purposes. The residents of the colony say that they have applied for BSNL landline connection several times but their applications were rejected on the pretext that there was no cable in the area. They urged the General Manager BSNL, Gautam Lal, to personally look into the issue and help redress the genuine demand of the residents of the colony. |
